Who this list is for

Topics about money and personal finance: salary, savings, loans, spending. Useful for finance creators, advisers and anyone who wants to talk about money calmly and clearly β€” with family, clients or an audience.

A common mistake

Speaking in generalities: β€œyou should save”, β€œloans are evil”. A money answer persuades when it includes a number, an example or a rule people can apply.

Sample answer

Should you finance a car?

I think it’s worth it only if the car earns you money or you can’t get to work without it. Otherwise a loan turns convenience into debt for several years, and the interest can add up noticeably. My rule: the monthly payment shouldn’t exceed ten percent of income. If it does, it’s better to wait a year and save a bigger down payment.
