Who this list is for
For anyone who needs to explain complex things simply: managers, teachers, experts, creators. Explain inflation to a child, AI to your grandma, a loan to a friend. If you can’t explain it in a minute, you probably don’t fully understand it yet.
A common mistake
Explaining with jargon. “Inflation is a rise in the general price level” means nothing to a child. You need an analogy from the listener’s life and one example.
Sample answer
Explain inflation to a kid
Remember when ice cream cost two dollars, and now it’s three? The ice cream didn’t get bigger or tastier — money just became worth less. That’s inflation: over time the same money buys less. That’s why grown-ups don’t keep all their money in a piggy bank and try to invest it so it doesn’t lose value.
Questions about this list
How do I know my explanation is clear?
Imagine the listener has to retell it in their own words. If they couldn’t, simplify.
How many examples do I need?
One good example beats three.
Who benefits most from this list?
Managers, teachers, people who sell complex products and creators of educational content.
How a session works
- Spin the wheelYou get a random topic from this list — like a question you didn't prepare for.
- Speak for a minuteLammy turns speech into text. The coach counts fillers, pauses and pace and checks your structure.
- Second takeGet one task and say it again. Your second take almost always scores higher.
