Lammy is an impromptu speaking trainer. Here is a short summary of what data we collect and why.
Without an account
You can practice without signing up. Your practice history is then kept only in your browser on this device. It isn't saved on our servers.
What we store if you're signed in
- Your email address and name from your Google account, or the email the sign-in code was sent to — so you can sign in.
- The practice goal you chose.
- Practice topics and results: Lammy Index, filler words per minute, time to first word, pauses, pace, coach scores, task and recommendation, day streak and challenge.
- Transcripts of your takes — the text your speech was recognized as. They let you reread your answers in your practice history and see how your speech changed.
What we don't store
- Audio recordings. Audio of a take is sent for speech recognition and deleted right away: we don't keep it.
Who receives the data
- Audio of a take is sent to the Whisper speech recognition model on Groq's servers to turn speech into text. If that fails, your browser's speech recognition is used: some browsers (for example, Chrome) use their developer's servers for this.
- The text of a take is sent to the AI model provider to get the coach's feedback. Currently this is the gpt-oss-120b model on Groq's servers.
- Your account, practice history and transcripts are stored in Supabase.
- We don't sell data and don't show ads.
Deletion
You can delete your account and all data, including transcripts, in your account: “My practice” → “Settings” → “Delete account and data”. Deletion is immediate and can't be undone. If it doesn't work, email us from the address you sign in with and we'll delete your data within 30 days.
